In the eyes of Vairocana Tathagata, a monkey is just a monkey.

The monkey's nature is to be unruly and untamed. Previously, Sun Wukong lay flat and refused to be a monkey, but that was all acting.

"The Buddha is joking."

In the eyes of Guanyin Bodhisattva, Sun Wukong was originally just a monkey, a monkey through and through.
